Dreams and Hopes on Paper Airplanes

Last week we had an event celebrating and honoring foster youth who are aging-out.  It's an annual event called Passages.  At the event youth "taking flight" wrote some of their dreams and hopes on paper airplanes. Here are a few of my favorites: "To be an artist", "I want to buy my Mom a house", "I hope for my family to be happy", "I see myself with my PhD", "I dream to make a wonderful family"

Foster Care Fact

  • In a Washington state study, only 59% of youth in foster care enrolled in 11th grade completed high school by the end of 12th grade.
